Timișoara, an ”Open Art City”

FISART, the festival organized by the EnduRoMania Foundation and the Timișoara Faculty of Arts and
Design has already become a local tradition. The official opening event of the sixth edition, was planned as a
performance in progress workshop of street art and took place at the Amphora Restaurant. The artists who joined
the festival came before the audience with new, fresh approaches and an extraordinary range of themes, languages
              and techniques of urban art.

The city’s main Water Treatment Plant turned into a genuine open air art gallery, as numerous artists left
their marks on its walls, windows and doors. The art intervention resulted in an outstanding visual and aesthetical
amellioration of this industrial facility. The artworks have vivid and vibrant colours, different sizes and were produced
using a variety of styles and techniques. Both locals and tourists received this new art with enthusiasm, taking
numerous pictures with the works and making the location a landmark for street art performance and exhibition.

Street art opens new perspectives on the city, on sensing its life and its dimensions. When well placed, street art
works enrich the landscape, adding sense to it and making passers-by aware of the visual message and the aesthetics
of the urban space. This phenomenon has easily found a place to manifest in Timișoara, an ”Open Art City”.
