"We are in the process of defining the project of a large-scale street art museum. We have a bike path along the Bega
and we have the street art festival here. The two can be combined to create the longest street art museum in the world
by 2021“, reveals Sergio Morariu. Along the Bega there are numerous places that could be brought back to life by
color. There is also space for installations and sculptures along the Bega. "I imagine it like this: I'm sitting on the ship's
deck, drinking my whiskey or my Timisoreana beer and I admire street art," says Sergio Morariu.
Conversation with the initiator of the International Street Art Festival in Timişoara
By Andreea Oance ADZ and Sergio Morariu
AO:How has FISART evolved over the seven years since the first edition?
SM: FISART actually arose by accident. Everything is based on my photography hobby. I have a lot of friends
in the Faculty of Arts in Timişoara, whom I have told about such an initiative. The idea was so well received that we
organized a festival right away. Corina Nani has created everything. I have to admit, I never thought anything would
come of it. In 2011 we organized a pure graffiti festival. At the time I did not know what graffiti is and what the
difference is between graffiti, tagging or writing. However, after the first edition, I noticed that this was not necessarily
the direction I was interested in, so we decided together to switch to street art. So that meant no signatures, no writing
and vandalism, but simply art in any form that people should like, but not necessarily everyone has to like. However,
this should make a contribution and have an artistic effect.
FISART is a good example of a project that, without much planning, but with much dedication and
enthusiasm, has brought what we have now: many hundreds of works from big to ultra big, which give the audience
pleasure ... in buildings and walls as well on trams and in the industrial area. This latter we call industrial street art.
